A preview of what's inside.

  1. 01
    Today

    Air that's actually moving

Change the right filter and check its fit, run the range hood every time you cook, and size an air cleaner to the room instead of to the claims on the box.

  2. 02
    This week

    Water you can trust

Find your utility's yearly report, learn whether your address has a lead service line, and match a filter to the exact problem you need to solve.

  3. 03
    This week

    The plastic in your kitchen

The one house rule that matters more than all the rest, plus the five swaps genuinely worth making first.

  4. 04
    This week

    Moisture, before mold

Where to put an inexpensive hygrometer, the number to stay under, and the slow leaks that almost everyone misses.

  5. 05
    This month

    The invisible ones

Radon, carbon monoxide and private-well water. What to test, how often, and what the numbers actually mean.

  6. 06
    Before you renovate

    Old materials, new dust

Lead, asbestos and demolition dust: what to settle in an older home before anything gets sanded or torn out.

It ends with a one-page checklist. Sixteen boxes you can print, stick on the fridge, and work through over a month.

We started with our own homes.

Kingsfoil Homes began the way these things usually do. We had questions we couldn't answer about the place we lived. What was actually in our water? Why did one room always smell faintly damp? Was reheating dinner in a plastic container every night a real problem, or were we overthinking it?

What we found was noise. Alarming headlines, expensive gadgets, and someone selling the one thing that fixes everything. Very little that simply told us what to do first.

So we did the slow part. We read the actual EPA, CDC and FDA guidance, tested our own home, and separated the real risks from the marketing. This guide is what we wish someone had handed us on day one, and it's the same order of operations we walk through when we audit a home for another family.

A healthy home shouldn't be a luxury, and it shouldn't take months of research. We already did that part.
